Australian carrier Vodafone has just announced HTC is about to deploy the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the One X.

The long-awaited upgrade is only available OTA (over the air), in stages, so not all HTC One X owners might get it at the same time.

According to Vodafone Australia, “this will make you among the first Australian One X owners to receive this eagerly awaited update.” That might be true as Telstra has yet to roll out the Jelly Bean update to customers that own the HTC One X.

Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean upgrade will bring lots of new features, including Google Now, bug fixes and various performance improvements.

It is also worth mentioning that Vodafone Australia confirmed it had waived the data access fees, so HTC One X owners can now use the carrier's 3G network to download the update without being charged.
