A new device is set to arrive on shelves at Vodafone Australia soon, the wireless carrier has just announced, namely the Apple iPad 2.

For the time being, the wireless carrier did not offer specific info on the availability of Apple's tablet PC, but those who would like to stay up to date on this should head over to the company's website for that.

“We’re excited to announce that we will be ranging the Apple iPad 2,” Vodafone Australia announced.

[ADNMARK=1]The carrier also put up a special page on its website so that users interested in the new tablet PC can register for updates.

On that web page, the wireless carrier also notes that they will be making the device available for purchase on prepaid outright, 12 month or 24 month payment options.

However, no specific info on the price tag it might feature was unveiled, nor on the monthly contracts it will be made available on.

The carrier did say, however, that the new iPad 2 with Wifi + 3G will offer support both for their existing network, as well as for the new 850 network, which should result in better indoor coverage and faster downloads from Vodafone.

The new iPad 2 comes with specs and features similar to those loaded on the first iPad tablet PC from Apple, but adds a series of enhancements into the mix as well.

“iPad 2 is thinner, lighter, and faster, yet it has the same 10-hour battery life. With two cameras, you can make FaceTime video calls and record HD movies. And the iPad Smart Cover attaches magnetically and aligns perfectly to your iPad 2,” the wireless carrier notes on the said webpage.

All users in Australia who would like to learn more on the availability of iPad 2 at Vodafone should head over to the wireless carrier's website here for that.
