Wireless carrier Vodafone Australia is gearing up for the release of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its Galaxy S II users.

The company has just confirmed that it received the Android 4.0 platform for testing, and that info on when it might start arriving on devices will emerge in the not too far future.

“Some late-breaking news – we have now received a build of Android 4.0 from Samsung for the GALAXY S II. Testing has been scheduled and will begin shortly, all updates will be logged here in the Weekly Wrap,” the carrier notes in a blog post.

Previous rumors suggested that Samsung might start the delivery of Ice Cream Sandwich for Galaxy S II as soon as next month, and it appears that things are getting closer to a formal announcement, so stay tuned.
