Android fans in Australia who still own the old, but still decent, Samsung Galaxy S II will be happy to know that the long-awaited Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update is about to arrive on their devices.

However, only those who have purchased their Galaxy S II phones from Vodafone and Three carriers are eligible for the update.

According to AusDroid, Vodafone has confirmed that it has approved the upgrade recently and now awaits a release schedule from Samsung.

Although there’s no telling when exactly this update will hit the fan, it’s safe to assume that it will be available in the coming days.

Keep in mind that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for Galaxy S II is only available via Samsung Kies desktop software. Samsung has also confirmed that the update will require an additional 1GB of storage from Galaxy S II’s internal memory.
