Nokia S60 phone models already support VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) services. WiFiMobile brings a PBX extension in order to improve these services. This means more solutions for small businesses and large corporations too.

VoIP is made of a set of protocols which make it possible for users to place calls over an IP network. This technology works with a variety of platforms, including computers and mobile phones.

oneFone was originally a free software and was used as a PBX extension to the corporate private branch system. Connectivity is available for this software through Wi-Fi or 3G data connect to the Internet. Its main purpose is that of offering users the possibility to access contact database in order to make VoIP calls.

VoIP technology is at this moment only in an early phase but looks for a rapid development. Such a step forward is made by the PBX extension brought by oneFone. With the help of this technology, users can use the company's WLAN network for both telephony and data transfer.

oneFone includes several important features, such as Smart Client Authentication and WISPr (Wireless Internet Service Project Roaming) and Intelligent Call Routing. This adds on the security level for using the mobile phone in public Wi-Fi hotspots and also offers the possibility of choosing a convenient dial plan.

The greatest advantage of this technology is the flexibility that it provides. "Gone are the days when an executive needs to be tied to a desk with their desktop phone cord. With just a Nokia phone and WiFiMobile software they can have stay in communications with their company and be almost anywhere", said CEO Gerry O'Prey.

In order to benefit from oneFone's services, all that the user has to do is to send some basic details to the Wi-FiMobile website and then start the installation process.
