It appears that certain, older tablets, if something from January even had time to grow old, haven't all died without ever making something of themselves, as shown by a certain Vizio product.

It really looks like there is no end to all the news, reports and rumors surrounding the tablet market, not that there is anything wrong with that.

Still, one can definitely say things are shaping up for an intense battle when no less than four different tablets make the news for some reason or another in the same day.

Turns out that things aren't about to stop here, as yet another slate, this time from quite some time ago, has been given a run over.

As reported by the folks over at Engadget, Vizio has managed to make quite a few adjustments to a product it unveiled as far back as CES 2011.

The tablet is one that will attract prospective customers by virtue of its price, what with the starting tag of $349, much lower than the apparent standard $500.

In fact, this does rather mean that the Impression 10 will be its main rival, especially considering the fact that the latter is a similar, non-Tegra ARM model.

The report did not specify the exact processor at the heart of the Vizio slate, so we are still left with the "1GHz plus" CPU mentioned back at the show in January.

Still, some details are confirmed, like the Android 2.3 Gingerbread (Android 3.0 will be used instead once Vizio considers it stable enough), HDMI, speakers and an IR controller.

As for the 8-inch LCD (liquid crystal display), it has a native resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels.

The tablet is said to have what it takes to double as a remote control for TVs, VCRs, etc. and will begin shipping nest month (July, 2011).
