Chinese mobile phone maker Vivo is gearing up for the launch of some appealing new devices in the not too distant future, and some more info on two of them has allegedly emerged online.

One of these phones is the Vivo Xplay 3S, which is expected to become official with a 2k display as soon as today, and which has made an appearance in a leaked press photo just before the formal announcement.

The handset should land on shelves with a very thin bezel, as well as with a Snapdragon 800 processor packed inside, while being the first smartphone out there to feature a screen capable of delivering the aforementioned 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution, as PhoneArena notes.

Along with it, a yet unannounced Vivo X3S smartphone made an appearance in the AnTuTu benchmark today, supposedly packing an octa-core processor inside.

The device managed to score just shy of 28,000 points in the benchmark, which shows that it will indeed arrive on shelves as a powerful handset, though not among the top-of-the-line out there.

According to GizChina, the handset might sport the 1.7GHz 8-core MT6592 chipset inside, while running under the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

Moreover, the smartphone should feature an 8-megapixel camera on the back, paired with a 5MP front camera, the same as the current Vivo X3 does.

It might land on the market with only 1GB of RAM packed inside, as well as with 16GB of internal memory. The rest of the handset’s specifications are also said to be similar to those of the currently available device.

No other details on the upcoming 8-core Vivo X3S have been provided as of now, and we still have no idea on when it might become official. Chances are that it will be unveiled today, alongside the aforementioned Xplay 3S, so stay tuned for more on this.
