Vivo is reportedly getting ready for the launch of a successor for its Vivo X3 smartphone, one that should arrive on shelves as the Vivo X3S, and that is rumored to feature an octa-core processor inside.

The smartphone was spotted online before, but a new leaked screenshot appears to confirm its hardware specifications, along with the fact that it will be launched with the Funtouch OS loaded on top.

As GizChina notes, the Vivo X3 should not be confused with the recently unveiled Xplay 3S, especially since it holds the title of the thinnest smartphone in the world, measuring only 5.75mm.

The upcoming Vivo X3S will be launched as an upgrade for this device, with a 1.7GHz octa-core MT6592 MediaTek processor inside, which should turn it into a powerful smartphone.

The rest of this handset’s specifications are equally impressive, starting with its 5-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

The yet unannounced mobile phone is also said to feature 1GB of RAM when launched, along with 16GB of internal memory.

Moreover, it is said to sport an 8-megapixel camera on the back, most probably capable of recording videos in full HD resolution, as well as a 5MP front camera for making video calls.

It will also pack the usual HIFI hardware, as well as the aforementioned Funtouch OS 1.0 ROM, which is based on Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system.

One other detail on this device that should be mentioned is the fact that it will hit shelves with support for WDMA 3G networks inside, as the X3S W identification moniker in said screenshot unveils.

What remains to be seen is when exactly the phone will be released and what price tag it will sport. However, we expect it to be priced quite affordably, which should make it a great option for many users out there, so keep an eye on this space for updates.
