Chinese mobile phone maker Vivo has made a new device in its lineup of Android-based devices official, this time packing it with a 5.7-inch touchscreen display, namely the Vivo Play.

The new mobile phone arrives on shelves with a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor packed inside, while capable of delivering a full HD resolution.

Vivo has also announced that the smartphone’s processor has been clocked in at 1.7GHz, and that it is paired with 2GB of RAM.

As GSMArena notes, the new device packs the same chipset as the HTC One, and should be able to deliver an appealing performance to its users.

The Vivo Play also arrives on shelves with a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, a 1/3.06″ Exmor RS sensor from Sony with an F/2.2 aperture lens.

Courtesy of this high-quality camera, the handset should be able to offer an appealing imaging and video recording experience to all users, that’s for sure. Furthermore, it sports a 5MP front camera for making video calls.

The mobile phone also sports a 3400mAh battery inside, measures 153.8 x 79.68 x 7.99 mm and weighs 187 grams.

The usual set of connectivity capabilities should also be present on the device, along with the whole range of sensors, complemented by Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. The handset also sports a “Fun-touch” UI loaded on top of the platform.

Additionally, the device is said to sport a TI OPA2604 audio chip with built in support for “BBE, SRS and Hi-Fi mode.”

The Vivo Play is set to arrive on shelves before the end of this month in Black and White flavors, in both 16GB and 32GB variants.

Apparently, Vivo has decided to make the smartphone available at only 2,998 Yuan ($490 / €372), which will certainly make it an appealing device, given its hardware specs and the cost of rival devices.
