Vivienne Westwood is a long-time supporter of Greenpeace, and would simply love it if more efforts were to be done to limit global warming and put climate change on a tight leash.

Still, her decision to cut off her hair as a means to protest said phenomena and raise awareness about the need to take action against them is bound to make some heads turn and some eyebrows reach out for the skies.

Ecorazzi tells us that the renowned English fashion designer has cut her hair and has decided to put her days as a red hair behind her not only to protest climate change and global warming, but also to show the world that she is proud of her age.

In case anyone was wondering, Vivienne Westwood was born in 1941, and is now 72 years old.

Shortly after the designer showed off her new hairstyle during Paris Fashion Week, a spokesperson of hers had a chat with the press and stated as follows:

“Vivienne cut her hair as we must all wake up to climate change. And secondly she wanted to cut the red out for a while and have it white – to show she’s proud of her age.”

If you ask me, the measure was a bit extreme. Then again, limiting global warming and climate change is of utmost importance, so maybe Vivienne Westwood was right in giving her best to raise awareness about these threats to our planet and human society.
