The development team behind the upcoming Vivaldi cross-platform web browser for GNU/Linux, Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X operating systems has announced the release of a new snapshot, which includes many improvements in various areas, as well as a new gray skin.

According to the release notes, Vivaldi 1.0.201.2 Snapshot is here to further improve the search engine management component and spatial navigation functionality for the web browser, but also to introduce a traditional and sleek gray UI (User Interface) and initial support for customizable mouse gestures.

"The highlights today are improvements to search engine management, spatial navigation, an alternative UI look and work in progress towards customisable mouse gestures. In addition, there are a number of nice, requested fixes," says Ruarí Ødegaard.

Therefore, we can mention that the UI of the search engine editor is now cleaner and clearer, and multiple issues have been fixed for the spatial navigation feature. Also, the new gray look, which has been made optional, has been designed especially for users who prefer something basic, neutral.

Users will be able to customize the mouse gestures

As mentioned, initial mouse gesture customization have landed in Vivaldi. It is work in progress and can be accessed via "Settings -> Navigation -> Mouse." For more details about the new features implemented in Vivaldi 1.0.201.2, please check out the official changelog.

At the moment, the Vivaldi web browser is in very early stages of development, so those of you who are brave enough to give it a try can download Vivaldi 1.0.201.2 Tech Preview 3 for Linux, Mac OS X, or Microsoft Windows operating systems right now from Softpedia. We do not recommend installing it on production machines. Binaries are available for both 32- and 64-bit computers.
