A fresh Vivaldi update has been released

The Chromium-based Vivaldi Web Browser developed by one of the former Opera founders has been updated once more, and some new features have been integrated.

The Vivaldi development speed seems to have increased somewhat, and the team is pushing one update after another. The fact that each new iteration of the browser brings new major features and improvements is an indication that there is still a lot of work to be done. Nonetheless, Vivaldi is becoming more stable, and in a very short time it will be a powerful competitor to Google Chrome and Opera.

You might think that there is no place for yet another Chromium-based Internet browser, but Vivaldi is different enough that most users won't feel like it's a duplicate effort. If anything, many users will get to see what Chromium is capable of achieving when it's in the right hands. There is no doubt that the Vivaldi team has a different vision of their browser, and we can now see that vision take shape.

Latest Vivaldi update is impressive

The biggest improvement in this latest release seems to be spatial navigation, but there are a few other things that jump out from the changelog, like the fix for the Bookmarks and a few others.

The developers have noted in the changelog that "we made some improvement in Spatial navigation. All the shortcuts are hooked into regular keyboard shortcut settings. Go to URL is now integrated into Quick command. And, the bug that has been bothering Mac users for quite some time now, Command + T opens two tabs, has been fixed! There is some more work left for Paste and Go, but it's in the context menu."

Other improvements include better implementation for Ctrl+Shift+V, new keyboard settings, new 5% increments for the UI Zoom slider, a better Go to URL function, a new paste and go context menu on address bar, and a number of other smaller fixes.

As usual, you can download Vivaldi for Linux from Softpedia. Only RPM and DEB files are provided. Also, the Windows and Mac OS X versions are also available.
