Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 were not the only Microsoft products to have been finalized yesterday. The Redmond-based software giant also announced the completion of Visual Studio 2012 and .NET 4.5.

The final flavor of the developer tools will be made available for download starting with August 15th for MSDN subscribers, Microsoft announced.

“In keeping with our goal of delivering great tools on the same cadence as our platforms, I’m thrilled to announce that we have completed final builds of Visual Studio 2012 and .NET 4.5.” S. Somasegar, Microsoft CVP of the developer division, notes in a blog post.

Additionally, Somasegar notes that Microsoft has decided to offer a treat to all MSDN Subscribers, enabling them to sign up for a free account on Windows Store.

“Visual Studio Professional, Premium, Test Professional, and Ultimate with MSDN Subscribers can also sign up for a free, one year developer account for Windows Store today, with Windows Phone developer accounts coming soon,” the aforementioned post continues.

Through a developer account, application builders will be able to come up with new Metro-style software for the Windows 8 operating system and have it published in the Windows Store.

On September 12th, Microsoft will also hold a developer-focused event in Redmond, providing people with the possibility to learn more on the new product, as well as to enjoy hands-on with Visual Studio 2012.

Those who would like to attend should head over to this page on Microsoft’s website to learn more on the matter.

For additional info on the building of apps for Windows, developers should head over to the Windows Dev Center, where they will find not only tools they need, but also design assets, app samples, and other content useful for them.

Those who would like to get started with Visual Studio 2012 but do not have a MSDN subscription can download the Release Candidate version of the tool today. It can be found on Softpedia via this link.
