It's raining Windows Vista Service Pack 1 downloads straight from Microsoft. At over two months since it was released to manufacturing and at just a couple of days short of the first month since it was dropped to the general users, Vista SP1 takes the stage yet again. With Windows XP Service Pack pushed almost completely to the background, Microsoft is focusing entirely on the first service pack for the latest Windows operating system. The latest release of Vista SP1 involves the CD version of the ISO file containing the service pack.

After the February 4 RTM, end users had to wait until March 18 until they were able to get their hands on Vista SP1. And in mid-March Microsoft only offered the first taste of Vista SP1, namely Wave 0 of downloads and a total of just five language versions, English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese. At the same time, the Redmond company pointed to mid-April for the RTM of the remaining language versions of Vista SP1, no less than 31.

"Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) is an update to Windows Vista that addresses feedback from our customers. In addition to previously released updates, SP1 will contain changes focused on addressing specific reliability, performance, and compatibility issues; supporting new types of hardware; and adding support for several emerging standards. SP1 also will continue to make it easier for IT administrators to deploy and manage Windows Vista. Windows Vista Service Pack 1 All Language Standalone version can be installed on any language version. This is a CD ISO image and contains the x86 version of Windows Vista Service Pack 1," reads Microsoft's description of the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 All Language Standalone CD ISO.

At this point in time, via the Download Center, the Redmond company is also serving Windows Vista Service Pack 1 All Language Standalone DVD ISO for both the 64-bit and 32-bit editions of the operating system, as well as the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 All Language Standalone packages. Of course that all 36 language versions of Vista SP1 are also available through Windows update, and right on track to be distributed through Automatic Updates.
