Vista's DirectX 10 to Deliver a New Era of Gameplay

Microsoft is bringing Windows Vista to the center stage of the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. The Redmond Company will showcase Windows Vista as a first-class gaming platform throughout the duration of CES 2007 allowing CES participants to play no less than 15 Games for Windows titles.

Windows Vista's DirectX 10 application programming interface is the heart designed to bring users into a new era of gameplay. The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 will provide the hardware basis necessary to run game titles such as "Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures" and "Crysis," as it is the first DirectX 10-enabled discrete video card available on the market. Via DirectX 10 Microsoft promises that gamers will be immersed into rich and detailed graphic game environments that will make the best out of the new Windows Vista Display Driver Model and Shader Model 4.0.
