Little-known Slovenian company Visionect recently launched a new interesting DIY project, in the form of an e-paper platform that enables just anybody to prototype an idea and develop an e-paper product based on it.

If that sounds pretty cool, you should know Visionect takes advantage of the standard technologies like HTML, CSS and Javascript in order to create e-paper devices.

Also, the company has its own products, called V-Tablets which are waterproof, shock proof and lack any button whatsoever.

These gadgets have Wi-Fi, 3 axis accelerometers and run on Arm Cortex M3 120MHz processors. There are two versions of them, the touch-enabled 6-inch one with 800 x 600 resolution and the 9.7-inch non-touch version with 12800 x 825 resolution.

V-Tablets come with extremely long battery life and if you’re wondering what their purpose on this earth is, I will say they should be used for reading, although given the fact they are called “tablets,” you might be able to do something more on them, but the official website doesn't specify.
