The Global Payments Inc. incident is far from being over. Recent reports have revealed that since the initial alerts sent out at the end of March, Visa and MasterCard have issued seven other notifications, informing of other compromised cards.

According to security journalist Brian Krebs, it has been determined that the hackers had access to the Global Payment systems since as far back as June 2011.

Shortly after the breach, the company released a website specially dedicated to this incident and now it has promised to update it with new details in the upcoming days.

Initially, the payment processor stated that only track 2 information from around 1.5 million cards had been obtained by the attackers, but since Visa and MasterCard are still warning of additional compromised cards, the number may considerably increase.
