VirusBuster antivirus customers should know that their current products will no longer be developed or supported starting with October 1. That’s because Agnitum has acquired exclusive rights for VirusBuster’s technology.
Agnitum has been relying on VirusBuster technology since 2006, integrating the solutions offered by the Hungarian security firm into its Outpost products. However, from now on, the email and web filters, behavior-based detection systems, scanners and all other technologies will be permanently and exclusively integrated into Outpost.
“We have reached the point where we cannot add further enhancements to the antivirus technology in the context of a licensing relationship,” Agnitum Managing Director Mikhail Zakhryapin explained.
“To that end, we have concluded an agreement with VirusBuster to acquire the exclusive rights to their technology, virus database, and antivirus processes.”
VirusBuster users will receive an equivalent Agnitum solution at no cost, but they will have to apply for a transition license before October 1.
