QEMU 1.6.1, a generic open source emulator and virtualizer that can run OSes and programs made for a different machine, has been released and is available for download.

QEMU 1.6.1 supports virtualization when executing under the Xen hypervisor or using the KVM kernel module in Linux.

As usual, every new version of QEMU comes with a ton of changes and fixes, 46 to be more precise. For example, QEMU wakeup has been adjusted, numbered tap/tun devices are now used on all *BSD OSes, qemu-alpha on 32-bit hosts has been fixed, invalid ROM size has been corrected, initializing ram_memory under Xen is now working properly, the local renderer has been fixed (qxl), and much more.

A complete list of changes and updates can be found in the official announcement. Download QEMU 1.6.1 right now from Softpedia.
