QEMU, a generic open source emulator and virtualizer, that can run OSes and programs made for a different machine, is now at version 1.4.1.
QEMU 1.4.1 supports virtualization when executing under the Xen hypervisor or using the KVM kernel module in Linux.
Highlights of QEMU 1.4.1:
• Support for MSI-X has been added on some Mellanox devices; • VFIO now supports PCIe extended configuration space; • CPU usage and throughput improvements have been implemented for USB 2.0; • usb-tablet can now be connected as an USB 2.0 device, lowering the CPU usage; • Support has been added for pass-through of USB serial devices; • Support for the Websocket protocol has been added; • Support for S390 emulation has been added.
