Oracle's VirtualBox Linux kernel driver has caused a lot or problems for users and a Linux kernel developer went as far as calling it garbage and crap.

“The number of bug reports we get from people with virtualbox loaded are truly astonishing. It's GPL, but sadly that doesn't mean it's good. Nearly all of these bugs look like random corruption”, said Dave Jones, one of the Linux kernel developers.

Jones even offered a solution for users so that automatic bug filing tools can opt out of automatically filing kernel bug, which can be found here.

This is not the first time when Oracle's VirtualBox has cause a stir in the community and many people choose to switch to VMware, which is a lot more stable and less buggy.

If you still fancy VirtualBox you can download version 4.1.4 right now from Softpedia.

Well I am yet to face any kind of trouble with virtualbox.I have used Vmware before and it lacks some features and caused more problems than virtualbox.I think developers cannot digest the fact Oracle being the owner of Open-source software like virtualbox.
