That was pretty fast! It looks like Oracle knows what it is doing and just updated its awesome VirtualBox virtualization software, which we have to admit that we use every day here on Softpedia to test all sorts of distributions of GNU/Linux and many other Linux-related applications, to version 4.3.22, bringing initial support for the recently released Linux kernel 3.19.

We really hate to keep you guys waiting, forcing you read the huge list of new features and improvements below, so we’ve decided to let you download VirtualBox 4.3.22 for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X first, so you can get a head start and update the software on your computers. Yes, it is a recommended update for all of you, especially if you’re already using Linux 3.19 kernel.

According to the official changelog, VirtualBox 4.3.22 introduces exactly seven specific Linux changes, more exactly compatibility with 64-bit Linux 2.4 kernels, Linux 3.19 kernel fixes, and a VBoxGuest module fix in VirtualBox Additions, support for X.Org Server 1.17, fixes for activated Intel SMAP (Broadwell and later) in Linux hosts, memory leak fixes in VBoxService related to libdbus, and fixes to multi-monitor guest issues.

It now supports recent Windows 10 Preview builds

Another interesting feature of VirtualBox 4.3.22 is support for recent Preview builds of the forthcoming Windows 10 operating system in Windows Additions. In addition, this maintenance release of Oracle’s VirtualBox virtualization software fixes broken CD/DVD passthrough issues with the IDE controller.

Other changes worth mentioning are fixes to some DirectSound failures on Windows hosts, fixes for various issues with the graphical user interface (GUI), as well as preventing creation of "Unidentified networks" in Windows hosts. VirtualBox 4.3.22 no longer leaks host-to-guest traffic to the wireless network if Bridged mode is used. More information can be found on the official VirtualBox changelog.
