Today Oracle released a fresh update for their virtualization software, VirtualBox. This is a maintenance release that features various repairs, some of them improving overall stability and functionality, for different components.

The developer solved the problem with the virtual machine crashing when reboot is asked. Occasionally, some users experienced crashes of the guest VM the moment they connected to it remotely (VRDP. Also fixed are the hangs with newer VHD images.

Some repairs are GUI-related and deal with issues such as trimming of anti-aliased text in details-view element headers, “take-guest-screenshot” functionality on Windows hosts or the possibility to terminate the virtual machine even if VBoxSVC crashed.

Furthermore, users should no longer have problems converting disks from raw images and the implicit opening of media should be consistent in all places dealing with media. The full list of modifications is available here.
