Includes performance improvements and fixes

The popular and powerful VirtualBox virtualization software from Oracle, reached version 3.2.8 a few minutes ago. This new maintenance release brings lots of stability improvements and many bugfixes over previous versions. VirtualBox 3.2.8 binaries are available for download (see the link at the end of the article) for Linux, Solaris, OpenSolaris, Windows and Macintosh platforms. Without further introduction, let's take a look at the changes brought by VirtualBox 3.2.8:

· Added the ability to attach a single disk to multiple Virtual Machines (without 3rd-party tools or any other tricks); · Added remote installation support; · Fixed support for GL_EXT_texture_sRGB; · Fixed the PXE boot issue for ZENworks; · Fixed X.Org 6.8 guests issues; · On KDE hosts, native file dialogs will no longer be used; · Improved support for larger images; · Better export functionality; · Repaired an USB crash with non-ASCII characters and older Linux kernels; · Virtual machines are now properly restored if pre-allocation is enabled; · Fixed various networking performance issues; · Fixed virtual hard drive auto-reset function; · Various fixes for SCO OpenServer guests; · Fixed some I/O errors; · Performance improvements and fixes for Solaris guests; · Temporary properties are now properly deleted on shutdown; · Performance improvements and fixes for RDP video redirection; · Audio driver of host machine is now automatically converted in the background (for example, DirectSound can be converted to PulseAudio); · NAT network settings are now properly stored in an XML settings file v1.10 or later; · HTTP keepalive is now enabled in the web service, for better performance.
