Cyber Troopers Virtual-Onis is a series of video games created by Sega's AM3 (Amusement R&D Dept.#3), later renamed Hitmaker. They were first published for the arcade in February 1995. The game features fast, action-oriented play, requiring quick reflexes. It has seen four iterations and been ported to several consoles.

The Virtual-On video games’ most prominent feature are large mechs called Virtuaroids (or VR for short), gigantic robots which the player controls and fights against. Another one is the twin-stick control: two joysticks complemented by an array of controls. An interesting fact for the plot of the first game, Cyber Troopers Virtual On (Virtual On: Operation Moongate), is that it’s not actually an arcade machine, but rather a remote operation device sent from the future in search of Virtual On Positive (VO+) pilots.

GAMEPLAY HINTS

Avoid Belgdor's homing missiles
Jump up into the air and press Guard. You will immediately jump out of the sky and the homing missiles will not hit you. This is also good against any mech (Virturoid) in the game, and especially against homing attacks such as Viper II's Homing Blast, Bal-Bas-Bow's homing explosives, and the Vr Raiden's Double Twin Lasers and Quadruple Standing Laser.

Bal-Bas-Bow Hand Bit Floating Mine Launcher
To fire, hold Guard and press Center Fire. The Bal-Bas-Bow should fire his hand bits, but they will fire floating mines. Please note: The Bal-Bas-Bow will sometimes not respond - make sure your weapon is charged and is in the blue.

Tag game
This can only be done in two player mode. Set the round time to 95 seconds and fight, but do not try to kill each other. Whoever has most health left is the winner and the other player dies.
