Oracle came out with a new release for its virtualization software, VirtualBox. The modifications include plenty of fixes and changes that affect all major platforms it’s been designed for (Windows, Mac OS, Linux and Solaris).

As far as the interface is concerned, from now on users should be warned when upon an outdated extension pack and be offered download and upgrade options. More fixing includes false LCtrl key events on some Windows machines.

Additional work has been put into fixing some bugs with the virtual machine manger (e.g.PAE guests running on 32-bit hosts) and the command-line interface of the application, VBoxManage (e.g. extpack install --replace).

VRDP (VirtualBox Remote Desktop Protocol) went through repairs as Oracle solved the problem with correct resizing of the client and a rare crash that occurred when multiple clients would connect to the server.
