Australian mobile phone users should soon have the possibility to purchase new, highly appealing devices from Virgin, including the HTC Incredible S and the Sony Ericsson Xperia PLAY.

Both of these devices were already unveiled to the world, and the HTC Incredible S already became available for purchase on the local market exclusively on Optus starting with May 1st.

The two handsets were unveiled during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and are both powered by Google's Android operating system.

Virgin already has display cards for both the new HTC Incredible S and the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, and shows them as available with appealing price tags next to them.

The Incredible S, for example, should become available for $0 upfront on the 39 Easy Cap, while the Xperia PLAY will go for $10 a month on the 49 Easy Cap.

As the guys over at Ausdroid note in a recent article, the pricing is more than appealing, especially when compared to what other carriers ask for these devices.

For example, Optus has the Xperia PLAY available for $0 on the $79 Cap, while the Incredible S was released for $0 upfront on the $49 Optus Cap.

For those out of the loop, we should note that the Incredible S was released with a 4-inch screen, a fast 1Ghz application processor, 1.1GB of internal memory, and a micrSD memory card slot for additional storage space. The mobile phone also comes with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with HD video recording capabilities, as well as with support for 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, built-in GPS receiver, and more.

The Xperia PLAY was released as the first PlayStation-certified device in the world, with a sliding game-pad with all the PlayStation controls on it, and a large 4-inch touchscreen display.

The phone is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, packs a fast 1GHz CPU, a 5MP camera on the back, the usual set of connectivity options and sensors, as well as GPS receiver, and access to specific content in the Android Market.
