U.S. Cellular is not the only carrier to add the HTC One V to its portfolio as Virgin Mobile USA has just announced the immediate availability of the smartphone.

Customers who prefer to purchase their phones without having to commit to a long-term contract can now grab the HTC One V for only $199 USD outright.

According to Virgin Mobile, the One V can be paired with any of its Beyond Talk plans starting at $35 USD per month.

The carrier also mentioned the device could be purchased online and at local retailers, such as Best Buy, RadioShack and Walmart through July and August.

The HTC One V does not impress through hardware, but it packs some of the latest technologies, including ImageSense and Beats Audio.

The handset sports a 5-megapixel rear photo snapper that integrates the new custom HTC ImageChip. In addition, the main camera offers both autofocus and LED flash, as well as HD (720p) video recording.

Unfortunately, the One V does not come with a secondary front-facing camera for video calls, but that shouldn’t be too much of a problem given the phone’s low price.

More importantly, the smartphone is powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform integrated with HTC Sense 4 UI, and packs a 1 GHz single-core processor inside.

The phone embeds 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). Moreover, customers who purchase the HTC One V and sign up with a Dropbox subscription will receive 25GB of cloud space for free for two years.

This terrific handset for under $200, combined with our no-contract Beyond Talk unlimited data and messaging plans starting at $35 per month, is an ideal alternative to postpaid offers and to other smartphones on the market. 'A Higher Calling' demands that we continue to expand our already stellar smartphone lineup, and we’re delighted to add this device from the HTC One series,” said Jeff Auman, vice president, Virgin Mobile USA.
