Wireless carrier Virging Mobile USA today announced the launch MiFi 2200 in its Broadband2Go portfolio, providing users with the possibility to enjoy the first prepaid Intelligent Mobile Hotspot. According to the operator, the new device is meant to enable users connect any Wi-Fi capable device to a 3G network, while benefiting from prepaid wireless Internet service, without monthly subscription, activation fee, or annual contract.

The wireless services provider also announced that the new Novatel Wireless MiFi 2200 Intelligent Mobile Hotspot would be available for its users starting today via Best Buy and RadioShack, as well as online via BestBuy.com, Walmart.com and VirginMobileUSA.com. The device can be used on the nationwide Sprint 3G network, and comes with a price tag of $149.99 (excluding taxes) attached to it. Through MiFi, users would be able to create a mobile hotspot in order to share 3G connectivity with additional Wi-Fi enabled devices. Originally put on sale at a cost of $99.99, the device is now available for $79.99 (excluding taxes). The Ovation MC760 was developers by Novatel Wireless too, and is the world’s smallest EV-DO Rev. A USB device, the company announced.
