Virgin Mobile USA has recently announced the introduction of two new mobile phones that have been developed by Kyocera, namely the X-tc and JAX. While the former is stated to already be available for purchase with the cell phone carrier, the latter has only been announced, with no release date or price unveiled at the moment.

The new Kyocera X-tc is now available on Virgin Mobile's offering at a price tag of $99 with no contract agreement. For what it's worth, the device is an entry-level phone, yet it does feature a sliding QWERTY keyboard.

A quick look at the handset would show that it has a few rather nice features. It comes with a QVGA display that can deliver up to 262K colors, sports a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, and also comes with dedicated music keys. Other specs include Stereo Bluetooth, Mobile Web, Email and IM capabilities, Facebook Mobile, and a MicroSD memory card slot for additional storage space. The device measures 4.37 x 2.05 x 0.68 inches and weighs 3.89 ounces, while including a battery able to provide users with up to 250 minutes of talk time, as well as with up to 200 hours of stand-by time.

The second handset announced by Virgin Mobile, Kyocera JAX, is reported to be just another variant of the Kyocera S1300 phone that was launched last month by Cricket. This candybar device comes with a display able to deliver a 128 x 160 pixel resolution, includes a Web browser, Speakerphone, text messaging and “real music ringtones,” while being only 13-mm thick.

The Kyocera JAX comes with a battery that can offer up to 200 minutes of talk time, as well as up to 8.3 days of stand-by time. As stated above, the mobile phone carrier hasn't unveiled yet any details on the availability or price of the handset, yet it is expected to do so in a short while.
