It looks like Canadian customers are in for a nice surprise as Virgin Mobile plans carry the newly announced BlackBlerry Bold 9900.
The operator made the announcement via
Twitter and added that further details will be revealed in the near future:
“
phone news! we’ll be adding the new @blackberry bold 9900 smartphone to our line-up. stay tuned for details.”
However, we should expect more Canadian carriers to launch the BlackBerry
Bold 9900, such as Bell that owns Virgin Mobile.
Officially unveiled yesterday, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is the thinnest smartphone manufactured by Research in Motion (RIM) to date, as it measures only 10.5mm.
The BlackBerry Bold 9900 marks a new beginning for RIM, as it sets higher standards for the business smartphone market, as well as for the company.
Equipped with a single core 1.2 GHz processor, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 is the second most powerful device made by RIM, after the PlayBook tablet.
With
BlackBerry 7 OS on board, the Bold 9900 seems to be the first from a new series of powerful devices (hopefully).
The new mobile platform provides support for HSPA+ connectivity and Liquid Graphics touch screen.
Additionally, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 includes built-in support for NFC (Near Field Communications) and Augmented Reality.
The phone packs 8 GB of internal memory, 768 MB RAM, as well as microSD slot for memory expansion (up to 32 GB).
The 5.0-megapixel photo snapper supports 720p HD video recording and playback.
Users will be able to share their videos directly from the smartphone or sync videos, as well as music and photos, to their computer using Media Sync in the BlackBerry Desktop Software.
Although Virgin Mobile has yet to reveal a launch date for the BlackBerry Bold 9900, the manufacturer stated that the device would be out on the market “this summer.”
