HTC’s One X quad-core smartphone will be available for purchase in Australia as soon as April 2nd, through more than one wireless carrier.

We have already reported that Optus plans on adding the new mobile phone to its offering, and it seems that Virgin Mobile will make the same move on the second day of the next month.

The wireless carrier has already put the new device on its website with the aforementioned release date attached to it, and with a variety of details on the features and capabilities that users will enjoy from it.

“As promised an update for you all on the HTC One X. It will be available for sale online from the 2nd of April,” the wireless carrier announced on Twitter.

The company is expected to have the new mobile phone available for purchase for $0 on its Fair Go $59 cap.

When released, the new device will deliver great performance capabilities to all users, mainly courtesy of the 1.5GHz quad-core application processor that HTC has packed it with, and due to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS powering it.

Featuring a 4.7-inch LCD touchscreen display and no less than 32GB of internal memory, the new device will be able to deliver all the features and capabilities that users are looking for in a modern smartphone.

“It’s hard to deny the superior performance of its seamless 1.5GHz quad-core processor and whopping 32GB of memory. The HTC One X is a sure-fire hit, with Beats Audio ensuring you get the kind of sound quality you wouldn’t expect from a phone,” the carrier notes.

“Personalise your phone as much as you want to, with Google’s open-source software. It’s fully-customisable and you’ll have access to Google Mobile features as well as 1000’s of apps from Google Play.”

The handset also packs an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto focus, LED flash and HD video recording, as well as a front camera for making video calls while on the go.
