Virgin Mobile has just announced a new and affordable unlimited plan for its mobile subscribers in the US that will cost only $79.99 per month. Called "Totally Unlimited", Virgin's new plan will offer consumers the chance to call anyone in the US, at any time of day or night, without having
to worry about other fees.

Totally Unlimited is the cheapest plan of this kind in the US, as all the other carriers offer their services for at least $10 more.

With an extra of $10 per month, Virgin Mobile also provides its Unlimited Text & Messaging service (added to the Totally Unlimited plan), which includes texting, picture messages, Instant Messaging and email. The Totally Unlimited plan will be available for customers starting the 1st of July.

The best part of Virgin's new plan is that users don't have to sign a contract agreement if they don't want to, and they can simply pay month by month, as long as they use it.

Bob Stohrer, Chief Marketing Officer of Virgin Mobile USA, said in a press release issued today, "Totally Unlimited for 79.99 per month is simply a better value than postpaid plans offer. It is simply not necessary to sign a two-year contract to get real worth with your wireless plan. This offer surpasses the regional carriers' unlimited calling plans as well, as most add on roaming charges that can cost customers as much as 79 cents per minute. With Totally Unlimited, Virgin Mobile USA is providing consumers unlimited talk without all the limitations."

In terms of subscribers' number, Virgin Mobile is currently the eighth US carrier, having a bit over 5.1 million customers. As you may already know, Virgin is actually a MVNO (Mobile virtual network operator), as it doesn't have a network of its own and uses Spritnet's network. Well, for a MVNO, Virgin is doing pretty well, and it seems that its business will go even better in the future.

good story thanks.

I've been in the states and that's a good deal for over there. over here we have O2 unlimited for £15 a month no contract. very similar. VMedia are a good company, and it must be hard to bring good deals to the states.. so in the UK we might baulk at the thought of it but £50 for unlimited is a good deal in the states. Dava
