Starting December 8, Virgin Mobile will be launching its new media portal, which will now be accompanied in the Internet department by Yahoo!'s oneSearch, which is certain to turn the web browsing experience into a far more pleasant one.

This new Virgin Mobile portal will bring news, music, video games and all sorts of entertainment, all of which will be viewable through Yahoo! services, thus boosting a bit the overall image of Virgin from the very start.

Graeme Oxby, director at Virgin Mobile, stated the following about the joint venture: “Our new Virgin Media mobile portal brings the web to consumers’ pockets. A great mobile search service is a crucial part of this and by integrating Yahoo! oneSearch into the portal, we are ensuring our customers have all the information they need at their fingertips. Whether you’re checking the Saturday football scores or your favorite web services, you’re guaranteed to find what you need with ease.”

In addition, using the just mentioned services and applications, users can search for any kind of information, from news or financial information to lottery results, and even the weirdest things you can imagine. The results will not just reveal the information requested, but also all other data that is relevant to the search, such as wallpapers, ringtones, and the latest, or older most important data. This application will bring new life to the browsing experience, mostly because users won't have to navigate through hundreds of links just to get the information they need. This will surely be appreciated accordingly by all users, potential ones included.

"Working closely with our 70 mobile operator partners, Yahoo! oneSearch is a starting point for mobile consumers globally, revolutionizing the mobile search experience by delivering relevant answers to queries that mobile users have while on-the-go. [...] Together, Virgin Media and Yahoo! are enhancing the user’s mobile Internet experience in the UK while creating unique opportunities for advertisers to reach a highly-engaged audience of mobile consumers,” said Mitch Lazar, director of Connected Life Europe, Yahoo!.
