Virgin Mobile's festival from last year won for the company a 'Best in Mobile Advertising' award, leaving the judges at Global Mobile Awards 2007 quite impressed.

The success of the festival was remarkable and over 30,000 mobile phone users connected to the service Virgin Mobile offered throughout the three days.

This year, mobile phone manufacturer Sony Ericsson will be joining all the fun by sponsoring the festival and aligning itself with leading rock indie bands like the Killers, Foo Fighters and Snow Patrol.

Rosie Newey, Head of Music Sponsorship at Virgin Mobile said: "It's great to have Sony Ericsson on board this year, its top of the range handsets are ideal for music fans as they have a huge capacity to download and store tunes as well as images from the festival. They are a perfect partner for Virgin Mobile's V Festival and we look forward to a truly fantastic year with all the best bands."

Other acts playing this year will include Kasabian, Pink, Manic Street Preachers, Primal Screen and many more. This is quite an opportunity for Sony Ericsson to show of their music dedicated, fun devices for young and dynamic users.

Richard Dorman, senior marketing manager at Sony Ericsson, said: "The vibrant, music drenched atmosphere at this year's Virgin Mobile V Festival is the perfect event to showcase the fantastic new W880i in particular. We are looking forward to working with Virgin Mobile to come up with lots of innovative ways to sample our products to all music lovers at the V Festival."
