Finals take place in March 2012 in London, England

EA Sports, the simulation division of publisher Electronic Arts, has announced that it is working with specialist retailer GameStop to launch the FIFA 12 Qualifier Cup competition, in collaboration with Virgin Gaming.

Players who pick up FIFA 12 at GameStop locations can sign up for the Qualifier Cup and will then have one full week with the game to train and polish their skills before actually competing against other human gamers for the chance to win a trip to London, England, where they will compete in the final phase of the competition against others selected from across the world.

The overall prize fund consists of more than 50,000 dollars (close to 37,000 Euros).

The finals phase will take place in May 2012 and the lucky winner of the Qualifier Cap will get round trip transportation for himself and one guest, a 5 night stay in a hotel and 2 tickets to a soccer game during that period.

Those who are interested in getting the new FIFA 12 from GameStop should know that those who put down a pre-order for the video game will also get access to 24 Gold Packs, which will allow them to created their perfect club in the Ultimate Team game mode.

FIFA 12 is the newest title in the long running series from EA Sports and the development team has been hyping the game for the last few months, detailing the way the Player Impact Engine and the new attack and defense options make the experience more compelling and closer to how real football matches are played.

The game will be launched on September 27 in North America and three days later in Europe and players will be able to get it for the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PC and the Wii and versions for the PlayStation Vita, the Xperia Play, the Nintendo 3DS and iOS devices are also being developed.
