The company has some huge plans in the longer term

Virgin Galactic still hasn't put anyone into space (technically low Earth orbit, just above the atmosphere) yet, but it's getting close. The company plans to start the first flights next year and there's already a long waiting list. But beyond those first few flights, Virgin Galactic has several other plans.

The company plans to start sending people into space, those who can afford it, so they can see what it feels like to weigh nothing for a few minutes and get the best view of Earth from above you could ever hope for.

But it's also looking into a more traditional source of income for space-faring companies, putting satellites into orbit and doing science experiments, it revealed at Wired 2013.

Because of its unusual setup, Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo is first carried to high altitude by a plane, it could offer some great prices to carry stuff into orbit.

But that's not all, the company is also thinking longer term at providing fast intercontinental flights, something like going from London to Sydney in two hours.

Beyond that, it envisions longer trips aboard large space ships, similar to cruise ships today, floating hotels that could take people to the moon and back.
