During the 2014 Comic-Con, DC Comics decided to unveil the new Wonder Woman costume with a lot of fanfare, and it was probably hoping that fans would be blown away by the transformation the legendary superhero suffered at the hands of a team of egg-heads back at the studio.

In reality, most fans were disappointed that the new costume had nothing in common with the classic image of the character. Moreover, it seemed to be eerily similar to a costume worn by another famous Amazon princess, let's call her Xena.

In the early '90s, “Xena, Warrior Princess” was a very popular TV series that made Lucy Lawless a celebrity and gave us all fantasies about ancient times and hot girls in leather bikinis fighting with big swords.

Some fans actually took time out of their days to graphically express their disappointment with the new costume which, in their vision, was a rip-off of Xena's outfit, and they made some photos showcasing Xena's reaction upon finding out Wonder Woman stole her style.

The Wonder Woman project was plagued with controversy from the start, when thin actress Gal Gadot was announced as playing the superhero on screen. The blogs and fan sites erupted with negative comments, claiming that Gadot didn't have the frame to play Wonder Woman, she was too thin and tall, but the production went on nonetheless.

Now that the costume is out, people are lining up to take shots at the project, making for some funny memes in the process. One of them is illustrated below.
