Superhero movies are having a major moment right now, with every studio jumping in for a slice of the action. As we speak, there are more comic book-inspired movies getting wide releases in theaters than original pics, and this, in turn, has led to talk of superhero fatigue.

Not few are those who believe the bubble will burst long before 2020, which is how far studios have gone in their scheduling with these releases. Not few are those who say the genre is already corrupted and that releases are no longer meant to be seen as standalones but as part of a bigger thing, thus forcing the moviegoer to pay more for the cinematic experience.

Some say these movies are dumb, others that they’re too packed with action scenes to have an actual message to carry.

Many of these things might be true in regards to certain films from the genre, as we all know; but that doesn’t mean we should generalize and say that all superhero movies are bad.

As the video below, from The Frost Bros, reveals, there are many positives to the superhero genre, and they may outweigh the negatives if only we’d give them the chance.

Superhero movies stand for something noble, and they present impressionable minds with good role models. They also make a lot of money, which means that thousands of industry people have jobs to go to. They’re uplifting.

They’re more than just explosions.
