ESPN analyst Doug Glanville makes odd comment, the Internet is confused

ESPN analyst Doug Glanville doesn’t think the New York Yankees are what they used to be once. In fact, if he’s to draw comparisons – which he does – he’d say that they’re like Brokeback Mountain.

Seriously.

Check it out in the video below.

“They have basically Brokeback Mountain going over here. I mean everybody's on the disabled list or hurt in some form or fashion,” Glanville said during the Yankees vs. Cardinals game yesterday.

Clearly, Glanville, who’s known for his love of puns and analogies, has gotten his movie trivia wrong.

“Brokeback Mountain” is the Oscar-winning film in which Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal play gay cowboys, in what has been described as one of the most heartbreaking love stories ever put on film.

Or “the gay cowboy movie” as it’s occasionally referred to. How that ties in with the Yankees is still a mystery unless he thought Brokeback Mountain referred to something else.
