If you’re looking to get schooled in film and you want the easier way of getting around to do that, the video below might prove of tremendous use. It’s a 9-minute history of Hollywood and film, which basically takes you through 2,000 years of moving images, from the very first time the idea emerged to today.

It even includes a glimpse into the glorious future, one that promises to deliver content (films, in this case, be they short or long) customizable to every viewer depending on his or her preferences recorded so far. We’re talking about films that play out differently depending on who’s watching them.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We’re still a way to go until then. As the video puts it, right now, Hollywood and television are at a tie: we’re living in the Golden Age of Television, so Hollywood is expected to make the next step forward.

CineFix proposes to release one such video every week, with the purpose of film schooling all those who have come to appreciate the art of moviemaking – and movie selling.

Because you always have to start at the beginning, here’s how it’s taking you, the viewer, through the history of Hollywood and film in a little under 9 minutes. It’s a fascinating ride, told in a funny and easy to understand way, so enjoy!
