Viral of the Day: Samuel L. Jackson Tries to Make Reporter Say N-Word

“Django Unchained,” Quentin Tarantino’s most recent movie, has been out in theaters for some time but the video above has just gone viral now. It’s a press junket for the film with Jake from Jake’s Take getting to interview the director and some of the stars.

The last one to sit down with is Samuel L. Jackson – that part starts at around the 13:00 mark.

While the rest of the video is extremely interesting to watch, it’s this last part that’s keeping people talking, particularly because Jackson makes Jake squirm a lot by trying to make him say the N-word.

“Y'know There's been a lot of controversy surrounding the usage of the ‘N’ word in this movie...,” Jake says.

Jackson pretends not to know what he’s talking about: “No? Nobody? None? The word would be…?”

Jake repeatedly refuses to say the word and eventually drops the question altogether.

The reason why the video has gone viral is because it’s being taken as a concrete example of political correctness gone too far: you can’t talk about how bad a word is if you can’t even mention it, the argument becomes invalid.

Check it out above and let me know what you make of it.
