Ryan Gosling wants to be taken seriously as an actor and director, which means he wants to avoid being a celebrity. In turn, this means that he’s hardly ever around if he’s not promoting a new film, unlike many other movie stars who are a constant presence in the tabloids and in the glossies.

Of course, that doesn’t lessen the fans’ affection for him and they do whatever they can to compensate for the fact that he’s not daily in the headlines. For instance, if you go online, you will find countless tumblr pages and fansites dedicated to him, the “Hey Girl” meme and the viral Ryan Gosling Cereal Vine.

That last one picked up a lot of speed almost 2 years ago: it was created by Ryan McHenry and saw Gosling being forced a spoonful of cereal and reacting violently to it. For some reason, the actor really didn’t want to eat his cereal and this made the delight of millions of fans, and not only.

Unfortunately, McHenry recently lost his battle with cancer and the same people who enjoyed his Ryan Gosling Cereal Vines made it their goal to get the actor to honor him in some way. Gosling recently joined social media, so this was the perfect moment for them to reach out to him.

They wanted something from Gosling that would honor McHenry’s memory, and they got just that: Ryan Gosling finally ate his cereal. He even uploaded a video of it, which you will find included with one of the tweets below.

He also sent a beautiful message to all of McHenry’s family members and friends, saying that he was honored to have been a part of his life.
