Live interview took place right after NBC pulled the plug on “Go On”

The biggest fail of the week goes to Fox Sports West host Dan Moriarty who, a few days ago, stumbled across Matthew Perry at the LA Staples Center watching a hockey game and decided to congratulate him on his show being canceled.

As I also noted over the weekend, NBC pulled the plug on “Go On” starring Perry after just one season. The interview that you can see in the video above took place just hours later.

Moriarty tells Perry that he must have had a big day and that “congratulations are in order.” He’s just lucky that Perry knows good comedic material when he sees it.

“Oh, thank you. You're talking about my show being canceled?” he laughs.

On a more serious note, the actor adds, “It was sort of a sad day because of the people and I'm going to miss them,” before joking again that, “this show that I was doing was really getting in the way of some Kings games, so I'm okay.”

Perhaps the silliest part comes when the reporter, instead of somehow owning up to his faux pas, concludes that “so it’s a double-edged sword congratulations.” To this, all I can say is “LOL.”
