It’s all in the details, as they say. Artist Kyle Lambert probably knew that when he started to finger paint a portrait of Hollywood actor Morgan Freeman using his iPad so, for 200 hours, he showed complete dedication to the project and, thanks to his talent, he’s now enjoying Internet fame.

The portrait can be seen in the video above, which is a time-lapse vid that shows just how much he worked to perfect certain details like the freckles on Freeman’s cheeks, his nose, his grey hair, or the sheen on his forehead.

“I get very involved in my process so spend a lot of time each day on the painting. I was spending 9-10 hours some days if a certain area I was working on was complicated,” Lambert says of the portrait.

“I’ve found with past videos people are more engaged when the subject is familiar to them. I think I must have been watching the movie Oblivion when the idea of Morgan Freeman came to mind,” he adds.

All his hard work paid off, because the portrait has gone viral and is getting very warm praises from more than just Apple fans. It’s not hard to understand why: at a first glance, his finger painting looks so real you could swear it’s a photograph.

But look closer and you will be amazed. Enjoy!
