For today’s Viral of the Day, I dare suggest a feel-good, happy-end piece of news. Robert McDonough from Maine suffers from dementia and went missing for over 14 hours – when he simply strolled up a camera crew reporting on his disappearance.

Check it out in the video above.

You can see Norm Karkos of WMTW preparing for a live update from the street on which Mr. McDonough lived, when the 73-year-old man simply walks up to and then past the camera crew.

A search party had been sweeping the surrounding area for him for hours, and cops were just getting ready to call it off when he showed up.

Mr. McDonough was not hurt and he wasn’t feeling ill. Karkos says he noticed some blood on his hand and shirt but he doesn’t say where it could have come from.

“Well, sometimes timing is everything. And good news, and a happy ending. The gentleman behind us, you're looking at, that is Robert McDonough,” Karkos says.
