Universal Pictures hit film gets the flogging it deserves

This Valentine’s Day, Universal Pictures finally brought to the big screen the story that had fascinated millions of female readers from the “Fifty Shades” trilogy of novels by E.L. James. “Fifty Shades of Grey” was predictably trashed by critics and even the fans of the books, but it still went on to make a fortune in ticket sales.

We have 2 more installments to look forward to, coming out in 2017 and 2018. That’s a long time to wait (for those who did enjoy the first film), but Universal is making sure it’s filling the gap with teasers, photos and constant updates.

Should all else fail, here’s a video that could show these very people that enjoyed the first film just why it was so poorly received: for the special 100th edition of Honest Trailers, Screen Junkies did an Honest Trailer for “Fifty Shades of Grey,” complete with a cover of the trailer theme created for the occasion.

It really doesn’t get any more special than this.

As a bonus, the Honest Trailer also includes quotes from the book, which fortunately didn’t make the cut in the script. Now that James’ husband is on writing duties for the sequel, we should probably expect more “iconic” “holy cows!” and “inner goddesses” to make it on the big screen.

“Good job, world.”
