Since the Ice Bucket Challenge premiered online, aiming to raise awareness and money for the ALS Association and thus contribute to finding a cure for the ALS disease, I’ve seen my fair share of fail videos. None of them even comes close to today’s Viral of the Day.

Embedded below is a video that popped up on Reddit, of a girl apparently so determined to do the Challenge that she won’t let the pain and anesthesia from having had her wisdom teeth removed stop her.

She claims to be home alone and that her mother banned her from going out. She doesn’t want to get her hair wet and she’s pretty spooked that she’s bleeding from the gums, but she wants to do it for the “cause” and almost manages to say so twice.

This is one challenge that won’t end as most videos of the kind do, with the challenged one drenched in ice water and nominating 3 or 4 of his or her friends to do the challenge next. I will let you see the ending for yourself.

However, what does make this video special, other than the fact that it’s hilarious and infuriating in equal measure (assuming it’s not a fake, that is) is that it sums up perfectly all that is wrong with this viral Challenge.

The idea for it is to get soaking wet or donate money, but if you choose the former, you have to say out loud why you did it and to point viewers to the sites where they can donate money for the cause. This girl does no such thing.

She does seem to remember something about “the cause” but she doesn’t say what that is: all she knows is that she’s been challenged on a dare and she must do it, even if she’ll get an earful from her mom when she comes back.

I find myself honestly half-wishing this video was fake.
