The first trailer for “Fantastic Four,” the 20th Century Fox reboot scheduled for an August release, came out earlier this week, and if you experienced a clear case of deja-vu while watching it, or thought that its tone was a bit too serious for a comic book-based movie, here’s a possible explanation.

As YouTube user GunsAndJR saw it and then made it very clear in a mashup parody trailer, the “Fantastic Four” preview played out almost like one for a Christopher Nolan movie. Like, say, “Interstellar,” his most recent release and box office hit.

So he proceeded to create a new trailer from these two, and dare I say it, the result is perhaps better than what Fox came up with for “Fantastic Four,” if only because the new one features music from the amazing Hans Zimmer – and Matthew McConaughey. Alright alright alright.

“Fantastic Four” stars Kate Mara, Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell, and is directed by Josh Trank, who previously helmed the sleeper hit “Chronicle.” The first trailer is available in the second video below.

Fox is so convinced that the reboot will be a hit that it’s even booked Trank to direct the sequel, but to speak the truth, right now, buzz online is not entirely favorable. It’s not that people hated the trailer or the idea of the reboot, but even worse, that they can’t seem capable of mustering any kind of interest in it.
