If you thought Warner Bros.’ trailer was too dark and serious, this awesome fan-made video is for you

The wildly anticipated first trailer for “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” from director Zack Snyder and Warner Bros. leaked online late last week, and was officially released in HD 24 hours later. Fans loved it and many movie-buffs hated it, and it’s already sparking a frenzy of parodies.

One of the aspects that most bothered viewers about the trailer was how dark and dead-serious it was. Rumor has it that Warners has a no-jokes policy for its superhero movies, unlike Marvel, whose films usually blend action and humor in equal amounts, to be as entertaining as possible.

Well, the first trailer for “BvS” is so dark that it’s almost difficult to see, and it’s so serious that it’s depressing to watch - or so those who hated it said on social media and dedicated forums.

If you’re among them, here’s a version of it that you will probably find infinitely better: YouTube user Bobby Burns took the soundtrack from the official Warner Bros. release and added footage from the “Superman” classic films and the “Batman” TV series.

This way, instead of Henry Cavill as Supes, we get Christopher Reeve (the first film came out in 1978), and instead of Ben Afleck as Batman, we get Adam West (the TV series premiered in 1966 and aired through 1968).

Seriously, it doesn’t get any more retro than this. Check it out!
